ya it hummed the same at the store. a noise suppressor would help in the loop would it not? putting it as the last thing before the speaker would work wouldnt it?

this fuckin sucks
DAMMIT. i have to take this thing back. the humming is getting really bad, an i just discovered that resting my hand on top of it increases the hum to a very loud volume. this is ridiculous. i cant believe i let that guy at the store convince me that after an hour drive up there, that all i was hearing was "average amp noise". they better take it back. im gonna be pissed. there policy is 7 days, so i went back in that time period, but didnt return it. i made a point of asking the guy if i could possibly return it a bit later considering i did come back within the 7 days, even though now its going to be 8 days tomorrow. this absolutely sucks. im going over to try my friends behringer GMX212. i bet getting one of thsoe now would really piss you guys off, but if this is the price i have to pay for having a tube amp, i dont care. there is no douibt that i will go back to a tuber as soon as i can. but for now, if this is the only thing in my price range, ill have to wait and stay solidstate for a while.

Sounds liek you got a dud amp. Just play another like it. If they don't have another one, just hold off until you can get one.

Lemon. if you liked the amp to begin with you will like the amp when you get one that operates correctly. Don't let those weasels tell you that you waited to long. If you must I recommend you talk to the owner of the store if they give you a hard time...you are in the right.

I have had the Valveking 112 for 2 months or more and I have no hum or noise issues at all.
Tell them you want to exchange or your money back, rest assured you will come home with a new 112..

I'm going ALL THE WAY back tonight.....AGAIN. i hate bugging my mom to do this lol. ya if they have another valveking that i dont hear the hum in there is no question that i would buy it unless somthing else realy jumped out at me. ill post what happens later tonight.

this sounds like the time when I bought my second guitar. I was still a newbie guitar player and I got a guitar at guitar center and it hummed real loud. It had two humbuckers in it. It was a loud hum and also an "errrrrrjgkjdfgklsdjgdf" sound lol. The manager at guitar center said oh that's normal just the lights or blach blah blah. I took it home and after a couple days realized that what he said was bullshit. So I had to go back and return it. You should buy an amp online. Buy the same one but from musiciansfriend or something.

Hey, my luthier came with a solution to avoid the tube fan while recording: A switch. It will go back in the amp, t will turn off the fan when the noise is too much for recording.

i dont think they are screwing around....
these guys seem really nice. i dont think theyd dick around with this. the worst thing i can see them doing is mailing me a fuckin credit note. at that point, i would be fuckin PISSED as you can imagine, as i clearly verified with the guy that it was a real cheque and not a credit note. oh well. its situations like those where that crazy mom of mine comes in handy

Are there no Guitar Center's near you? They staff there are idiots, but they are so big there are 0 hassles on returns / exchanges. Musicians Friend is their website and they offer free shipping and take PayPal.

the closest guitar center is over the border in buffalo. i have a long and mcquades, but its still kinda far, and after this ordeal im kinda turned off from going far to buy something and then possibly having to go all the way back for a simple return. with the exchange now, the guitar center probably has some deals for me, but getting itt back over the border.......it wouldnt be that hard i guess. if i took it out of a box or whatever they give it to me in, theres no way they could prove its not just my amp sitting in the back of my car. but then its a trip over there and everything....
so no i dont really have a convenient guitar center. my most popular local store is walter ostaneks store. someone heres heard od him im sure. i honestly didnt know how famous he actually was til a few weeks ago. hes a grammy award winning polka artist. i heard hes got something like 20 grammys....ill have to look into it. anyway, i HATE THAT STORE. they are the biggest assholes inthe world and i hate giving them money for anything more than guitar picks. ive been conisdering sending him a personal letter, all formal like, and tell him how bad a name they are giving him/ everyone i know hates them, even my grandma! a freaking 68 year old woman goes into get her grandson a RP50(not me....my brother) and they confuse her and hassle her about the other models and shit. shes lucky she even knew what she needed, they probably wouldve had her buying a $2000 jcm or something. anyway....im ridiculously off topic. im trying to get my mom to give me the money this weekend so i can buy it soon and just pay her back when the check comes....wish me luck on my hunt
