I read a lot here about guitars, What amps are you guys into?
My collection:
1954 Fender Deluxe tweed
1957 Gibson GA-40 tweed
1959 Fender Vibrasonic brown face
196? Kay Model 704 (great for recording)
1968 Bassman 50 watt science project

Hey Daddy-O-
About that bassman. How Frankensteined
is it? I lost my early sixties Bassman 50 watt head at a pawn shop and really miss it.
My bass player even installed a stereo RCA line out that taps off the pre-amp stage.
Worked great for recording.

I picked this amp up at pawn shop ten years ago for $25. The silver sparkle grill cloth had been spray painted black & it didn't work but all it needed was a fuse---so I though. It worked well for a while. The power tubes needed replacing and unfortunatley I found out the hard way that the filter caps were ready to go. As it sits
right now the power transformer is pretty much a solid chunk of metal and I'm half way through replacing the caps, some power resistors, and I've replaced the grill cloth.

I have had several nice amps, my favorites are the verable Pro reverb and a new Vibro King. However, the best sounding amps I have, or have even heard, are a couple of Alessandro heads I have. Magnificant amps with a lush rich voice and lots of harmonics etc to play with.

I find that nine times out of ten I have all my pedals off and am playing straight into the amp.

I use a Fender Twin. It's the one with the gacky red knobs--an old beater but I found it cheap and it has Celestion 30s in it. The clean tone is angelic, and you can blend clean and dist. channels to yer taste. I wish I could afford more amps but I threw all my spare $$$ into recording gear (and my kids' shoes)...

I HAVE A OLD EARTH 100WATT BASS AMP POWERING
MY 19 YR OLD 18" PEAVY BASS REFLEX WOOFER.
(SPEAKER INSIDE HAS BEEN REPLACED). I ALSO
STILL OWN MY FENDER TWIN REVERB WHICH I REFUSE TO THROW OUT FOR MEMORIES OF BYGONE DAYS!

I've got a classic 1988 Peavy Studio Pro 60. A classic All-Transistor amp featuring Peavy's famed "Superstat" distortion for killer tone. 10 knobs for total control and even a handle to carry it around with. Spring reverb modified by a large flight of stairs for that crackly sound that's all the rage. Plus I custom-shaped the 12" Scorpion woofer with the butt of my Les Paul to add even more personality to its already unique sound.

Bow to me you gear sluts :)

Slackmaster 2000

I just traded off a peavey classic 50 couple of months ago for a Laney VC50 all tube amp, it has 5881 power tubes with a bias switch for EL84's, I went to Harmony central after I got this amp and checked out the reviews on it and was floored, everyone of them were very positive and should be this is the best all around amp I've ever come across hands down!

I play mostly through my Fender '67 Blackface Super Reverb. Though I like all vintage Deluxe and Super Reverbs (Blackfaces and pre-master volume Silverfaces alike), my '67 Super is my favorite. I play mostly blues and this always has sounded the best at high volumes for me.

But I use my RP2000 live cause I hate carrying heavy stuff!!!
Am I the only one who chose the RP2000 over a POD? The POD sounded thin to me.
