Good synth - korg R3?

Hi there, I'm after a good all round synth anyone can recommend? We've been looking at the Korg R3 and that looks pretty good. Does aomething like this pretty much allow me to create pretty much any soiunds I want. My band sounds a bit like the Brian jonestown massacre...would love to add some organ type sounds

I would take the R3 in a second if for the vocoder alone. The X50 is just a rompler based on a Triton while the R3 is a analog modeling synth (virtual analog) based on the Radius. If you are looking for general, realistic sounds then the X50 is probably a better choice but if you are looking for synthetic synthesizer sounds, you cant beat the R3
