Need help on which S/W is better for processing my LP's.
Finally got around to setting up the turntable and preamp to an Ensoniq PCI Audio card to record favorites from my album collection. I have downloaded Goldwave and the 2 minute limited trial version of Dartpro32. After trying both, I can't really tell if there is much difference in the sound quality they produce.
They both seem to record a lower bass effect than what sounds right, and needs the bass cut back using the equalizer. Could this be a result of the sound card input or some other factor I am overlooking? Should I use the equalizer or the parametric equalizer for this task.
Does anyone have experience with using both, and which is better, etc. Dartpro does not appear to convert wav files into mp3's, and an attempt at playing a Dartpro wav file gave only static using Sonique.
Ultimately I would want to have both wav and mp3's of these album cuts, so it seems that Goldwave is the answer. Is there other software that will record analog to digital better?
Thanks
Chuck
