Thanks for the in-depth analysis, and the compliments and criticisms. Most of the stuff I write is pretty shallow, and this one was done in a deliberate manner to be such. The whole meaning behind the song is that songs don't really need to be deep or lyrically eloquent to be enjoyable.
I'm certain it will never win any songwriting awards, by far. And being stuffed full of clichés certainly prevents it from being original. Hell, check out the chord progression in the verse, C-G-D heard that one before?
The song is cotton candy, sweet, enjoyable, candy, no nutritional value.

What are you using to listen? I've listened through everything from monitors to car stereos, to PC speakers. It sounds a little different on each, so I was a bit curious what you were using.
