I remember something from many years ago where a guitar had a separate pickup for each string, routed through a six channel distortion unit. The reasoning behind it had something to with adding distortion only to the notes played and not to the harmonic beat frequencies generated by the intervals between the notes, supposedly making for a distorted sound where you could still hear each note distinctly. I never heard one, but it sounded like a cool idea.

Easier to just by a Boogie.:D

Gibson is already nuts for charging $3200 for a Les Paul Custom that isn't hand made, isn't custom in any way, and isn't even made from one piece of wood anymore (the newer Custom bodies are 3 pieces).

Ibanez already makes a flying A, which is very, very similar to the flying V, so the name is already in use.

I would play a 6th grader's plywood science project guitar before a BC Rich.

That's too bad, because as ugly as they sometimes where, some of their original guitars are really fucking nice. They're well built, they sound good, and play great (when set up right, of course).

When you say "original" I'll assume you mean older. I wouldn't know about that...Their newer stuff is all made out of Agathis, which is arguably worse than plywood. Although the higher end stuff is mahogany and maple it's still neck heavy and built like crap.

I'd really like to try out an older Mockingbird, however.

I think that it's a nightmare dreamed up by a Marketing team! Looking at it from an ergonomics view, every time you would raise the neck on that guitar you would have that upper wing practically punching you in the jaw.

I guess at least it would be playable while you were sitting down, unlike the Flying "V"-I had a V years ago and never felt comfortable with it!!

This is just their "guitar of the week", where they only make 400 so it's not like a big initiative or anything. They probably struggle to come up with ideas every week.

So I suppose 400 very strange people or collectors will pick them up and they will not be seen again until some guitar show 20 years from now.

Totally agree that the Digital Guitar, otoh, is very silly and something they put a ton of effort into.

You do know, True, that the rest of you're Guitar harem will laugh at it and not let it hang out with them!:p
Yah...Yah...they would...but then I would just spank them all soundly and put them to bed....except for the cap'n...me and he are getting pretty tight.....:D
