yeah i did in this session .. no particular reason.. to tell ya the truth i never have really paid any attention to this when doing vocals.. maybe i should start :o

Great Question... I tried summing the L/R channels here and there definatley is something wierd going on in there. Like I should me hearing a boost in level when summing to mono not a cut.

yeah theres some desructive interference going on here.. so i will be retracking :D

I'd record in Mono and figure out what is causing the stereo problems. I put stereo effects on the vox track all the time w/o any trouble.
 
It is lacking low end and warmth, but this does not mean it wont work in a mix.
Probably could work quite well in certain mixes.
