Hi all,

Small problem. Trying to record guitar str8 into cubase sx. Running some effect thru it not sending to a bus just running the effects on the audio channel.

Anyway when I'm play guitar i still get the original sound of the guitar coming thru aswell the the sound after the effect have gone thru it...... I only really wanna hear it as it will sound when i record it with the effects....... not the direct sound as well.

Its fine when i listen to it after i have recorded it.... its just the guitar with the effect on it not the original sound..... but i wish to hear it as i will hear it when i play it back.....

Good enuf explaination???? *phew*

Ty in advance.

Im not totally sure what you mean. Are you saying you can hear two versions of the recording at the same time ie whilst recording you are hearing a 100% dry signal and a dry signal mixed with an effect you are applying to the track?

If this is the case then turn direct monitoring off in Devices - device setup - VST multitrack. This way you will hear what the recording will sound like when the effect is applied. Cubase does not allow you to record a signal that is treated with its internal effects. The recorded signal wil always be 100% dry.

I cant imagine why you might want to hear it without the dry signal at all but if you do then set the effect to 100% wet whilst recording.

Thanks

Keith

i had a similar experience , what i did was to mute that input channel on my terretec sound card and all i heard was the wet signal. that was using the programme 'chainer' , not in cubase, but it might still apply. play around with your sound card settings..
