Running SONAR HomeStudio 6.

What do I need to do to get my Sonar Project to a mastering house? Is there some kind of universal file format?

I know that once I tried sending WAV files but they were not able to load them. I remember that the guy kept getting a Win32 error.

Do I need to k now what the mastrering house uses?

Thanks for any help.

You probably should discuss it with the mastering house in advance. Most places can accept multiple formats.

When I had my CD mastered, I gave them 24 bit, 44.1 wave files.

Thanks dachay2tnr:

Okay, the guy just told me he has SONAR 4 Producer Edition and he doesn't know what exactly he needs from SONAR Home Studio 6.

Like I said I sent him WAV files and he got a Win32 error. I am not sure what bit they were. I just accepted the defaults when I exported the WAV files. I'll have to check when I get home tonight.

Anyone have a clue.

Thanks

If this guy is trying to master using Sonar 4, my suggestion is that you find another mastering engineer.

Sorry.

I think Sonar 4 PE does just fine with mastering stuff. However, if the guy doesn't know what he needs you to give him, then I'd go someone else, too.

Maybe for a do-it-yourselfer.

But if I were paying someone to master, and he told me he was using Sonar, I'd turn right back around.
