Getting ready to buy...For recording what software do you use?

Here is the lowdown. I run a small recording studio that does a small amount of work...I use Vegas for video AND audio on PC...but it seems to have its limitation...sampling, midi and etc. I would like to know what you are using and the pros and cons that you find. It will really help me in my search for a new platform....oh yeah...I am using a Motu system but I am not "married" to it. Also, I'm not really interested in ProTools because the hardware that you need with it seem way too expensive. Thanks

Cubase and Reaper are probably the most popular around here.
