Getting a Ringo sound...

not the book yet...
but after this thread I looked around and there was this movie clip interview...kind of an ad for the book.
 
I saw a very early picture of Ringo with a Premier set. It did not have the typical Beatles logo but a crude drawing of insect antenna with a diferent Beatles logo. I understand that he also used a rootbear colored Ajax drumset before he went to Ludwigs. At that time there was not a large selection of drumheads, Remo and Everplay were most popular in my area. Smooth and white coated were about the only options. I noticed that in early R&R recordings Ringo seemed to accent the first beat of the measure. You can find this on "Twist and Shout".
