Man, great job! I love it just the way it is, tight kick, phased snare and all. Great vocals, as always. You always come up with some complicated/intricate melodies with your vocals and they always work!

Great job!!!!

But we expect that from you... ;)
Thanx, Jeff. Nice to hear from you, bro.
Real high-energy here Rami!

Drums sound awesome. Guitars have a nice lo-mid growl to them...the solo has a cool kind of squawking quality to it...like it was run through a wah, set mid-low and just left there. I dunno, but it sounds smooth.

Performance is super tight and the production is fine. I don't hear any issues. Like the ending. Nice job :).
Thanx Heat. I turned the tone off on the guitar for the solo for that sort of "throaty" sound. It was hit and miss, but I didn't want the obvious, which would be a biting, disrtorted guitar for something like this.
Kick-ass...that's the only way to describe it!
Great hookline, Rami, love it! You've got a great voice and the harmonies are spot on. No nits, just joy......;)
Joey :):):):)
Thanx a lot Joey. Much appreciated coming from a great vocalist like yourself.
Good song! It was catchy and mixed well.

My only complaint is that a few of the cymbal crashes came through a little shrill. I might taper of the low end of those a little. (Though I'm listening through cheap headphones, so that should be taken with a grain of salt.)

Nice work!
You're right about the annoying cymbal, One of them is starting to slightly crack. But I noticed it shrills out when I hit it sometimes. Thanx for the comments, Vomit (or would that be "Steve"???)
Cool to hear a Rami jam!! Tight performance and mix....as one comes to expect from your music......dig the flangy drum break around 2:30!!......nice job!
Thanx alot Queepy!

Hey guys,

I posted the instrumental version of this a few weeks ago and got alot of help from y'all,

I got around to putting the vocals on it. As I always do, I mixed right after finishing tracking, which is never a good idea. But I figure either way, I'm going to go back and re-mix, so I might as well get people's opinions of what I might not be noticing, no matter how obvious it may be.

So, fire away and let me know what you like or don't like about the miix, etc....

Thanx.

You're disgusting, as usual. :D GREAT tune.

This one feels a little bit "overcentered" from a soundfield perspective, I wanted to widen it a bit. And I agree that your vocals are sitting a little deeper then they deserve, let them breathe... I can't say anything at all about your playing, it would just be my usual string of expletives and epithets.

I haven't heard a phase shifter used so wantonly on drums since "Listen to The Music" in '74". Nice touch...

How many takes does it take you to nail your harmonies?

Been a long time! First tune from my upcoming CD, featuring Chris Vadala!

oops! had the silly thing in reverse!

Thanx alot, Phil. I
ll look into the stereo spread, etc....

This tune actually doesn't have any harmonies other than the word "HEAD" at the end of the choruses. The chorus itself just has 4 tracks of me in unicent.

But, to answer your question, I usually have a lot less trouble arranging and singing harmonies than I do lead vocal. I usually nail my harmonies pretty good, but re-do lead vocals a few times until I stop cringing too much.

I'm not following........

I accidentally posted a new thread as a response in your thread. Duh on me.

I was asking the harmony question more in general, as so much of your work has such terrific stuff. I had a hunch that you're more comfortable with singing backups than lead, as am I. Not to say that you're not a fine singer, because you are (whereas I am more in the "cat in a blender" vein); but comfort in actually singing the parts seems to flow through you more on the backups...

Ah, I see. Yeah, I noticed that. :D :D :D

You're right. Until I'm 100% confident with my singing (which will probably never happen), it's a lot easier hiding behind a group of "me's" singing.

A group of yous. *shudder* Wow, frightening mental image, that... :) :)

Awesome drumming, dude.

I think that the doubled vocals sound great - it'd be nice to hear them during the verses, but I get the call/response thing going on later.

Cool guitar solo, too.

Your stuff keeps getting better and better. Don't hurt 'em!
