Before I continue, here's a sample of what I'm hearin'. Rough mix...gettin' jiggy...maybe too much.

I don't wanna make you feel kinda bad canning all this stuff. So if'n ya want something diff of way more laid back...clean.... This is some experimentation...quick search for what I hear. I'm kinda whack.

wow J sounds like your letting loose...:)

almost Zappa(esque)?? great stuff mate...really brought something out of those drums

I can feel a marimba moment coming on lol :D

....dont worry about me canning stuff, Im just really chuffed someone likes what ive done and can use it to make something decent..it wasnt really a track before so

Yeah, I tore through that book. So much great info.

I hate to be a snob, but the sheer number of spelling and grammatical errors in that book is mind-boggling, though. I mean, how much can it be to hire a copy editor?

doesnt bother me in the slightest...ive been on message boards for years...you soon give up on spelling and grammar..Ill be spelling like an American soon :D

great book though...lining up my next read, maybe something on music theory

Nuh-uh...the drums and the breathing space...where I can wander off the rez...is bringing stuff out in me. As soon as I heard that boogie, the dirty Rhodes, and the wiggle room, I knew I'd love to fly out on it.

My version of garage rock.

I'm gonna change that bass note in the final passage of the guit clip. Searching for Hb

just make sure you sleep dude :)

Edit: just gave your clip another listen..man thats some excellent work J...you're right about the gaps...they just beg for your frenzy in there..this could turn out very very good!

triffic J.....

Im out burning myself on the beach this weekend so should have this together on Monday if not before...

are you sending the tracks dry??

Bass track is unprocessed.

Guit track is processed going in.....including delay. I can try another guit track dry through my amp. Have it for moday. I redid the guit on a single track...withdrew a bit from crazy.

24/48

Hey my first collab :D

I may have inadvertently turned the keyboards up a jot when EQ'ing them...lemme know if their level's a problem..

I think you should be able to right click this and save, if you cant i can send it to you if needed...its recorded at 24/48 and hosted at 320kpbs (if that makes any difference)

thanks for the kind words and I hope you can make something out of this :)

wow pretty nice clean mix. well balanced.

I'm not sure why I only found 1:40 of the song, but it was sure sweet while it lasted! Nice collab Earl and Jeff! I couldn't even find your original to compare, perhaps that was good?

:D

80mb bass track 24/48

Max...the 1:40 was a sample of the guit stuff I was hearing on the tune...just wanted to know if it was too far out.

KC...gonna do a second 'chickie chickie' rythm guitar....you can cut and serve any way you please between the two. And please know that I take no umbrage at you cutting, pasting, or 86'ing the whole schmear. It was fun letting loose.....this is the kind of stuff I used to enjoy playing.... as a much younger tyke....trying to dupe McLaughlin, Abercrombe, Holdsworth, etc. And listening to bucketsfull of Weather Report.

One suggestion: you might find better build by reversing the order of some of the guitar parts....I start off with a bang, and end a bit more lyrically...inverse of workmanlike standards. Fatigue near the end...just wanna finish and listen.

Guitar is being uploaded...about 1.5 hours, it'll be available. Decided to let the new part go....can't shut off the fans and close the windows w/o suffocating....none of my modelers got me where I wanted to be, straight in.

I really need a humbucked guitar to do this stuff. The artifact/breakup in the guitar processor might cause you to ditch the guit. I tried:)

Thanks for the opportunity to play with you!

I miss being in a band.
