GearFest Mixing Contest

It's interesting how closely some of fHumble's ideas aligned with mine. I'm pretty sure his was entered well before I got around to uploading, and though I didn't listen to any entries until I was about 90% done, there seems to be some lexicon of common mix language.

- Distorted bass on the chorus.
- Delay throws last chorus.
- Lots of automation.
- Not much gating on the drums - notice "[...]I only gated the kick drum and just let the snare bleed and act as a surrogate hihat mic." Exactly! I was seriously thinking of multing that, panning it a bit right and taking down the snare hits or something.

Then when it comes to vocals, guitars our ideas are pretty different. I still think we've been listening to some of the same records.

My rotation was mostly:

Can some please tell me if all the songs will be downloaded and normalised?

In the rules and contest information, it says the files would be normalised, so yes.

Hi guys , i am just wondering, has any of you noticed his participation song for the gearfest contest to be downloaded (Not by himself ofcource)? because mine is not yet.And they said that they will do some loudness correction for all songs that cannot be done unless downloaded.....isn that to late for that? i hope thay will hear all the songs just to be fare.....

Too late man. Just like I was too late. I had my file uploaded but forgot to add it to the group. Not much you can do about it. The notes did specify that "all files must meet these requirements to be considered".

On a completely separate note, could you use spell check or something?
