GB instrument issue

Garageband has lots of synth sounds in the library. When you use a midi keyboard like my Nektar you sometimes get
much different sounds if you press the keys harder. I have a synth track and it was nice in a soft low key synth way.....
but after I did some editing stuff or just highlighted another track ,the synth sound turned into the harsher loud version of that library sound!! A totally different sound and unpleasant for my purposes.
didnt want it to change!! But I found that if I shut down GB and came back to that track it was back to
normal. But it has happened several times now in the middle of an editing session.
I was just wondering what was going on and if I had something set wrong...
 
Some presets have layers . Each instrument layer can have its own system of delay or necessary velocity to trigger the sample. I do not know garageband.

If your DAW environment is not constant, it sounds like a problem to me.
