G&L Tribute Legacy

Hi all,

I'm new here. This is my 1st post. I play guitar as a hobby at home. I don't play well enough for anyone to hear. I just plink around for my own personal meditation. I'm looking at buying a G&L Tribute Legacy. Does anyone have any experience with these and can you share any personal experience you've had with them? I'm considering buying an Agile ST-1000, but for $89 more I can have a G&L. There's a dealer in Dallas who has the Legacy Standard in black for $389. What do you think of these guitars?
 
I bought a Legacy bass for my kid. It's a well-made bass for the $$$.

Have the nut replaced with bone and get the action setup by somebody that knows what they're doing and you should have a pretty nice guitar for messing around on.
 
I've had a Tribute Legacy for about 8 months now, I bought it because I liked the feel of the neck and I thought the pickups sounded good for the price I paid, the bridge is also very solid and is solidly bolted onto the body, so it's got a nice sustain, which you will even notice when it's unplugged, the only problem I have had with this guitar is with the intonation; in the process of trying to correct it, I have had two new nuts fitted, messed about with the bridge in just about any way you can think of, including quite a lot of time spent intonating with a Strobe Tuner, but it still sounds out on a lot more chords than it should, e.g. go from A (Barre F form at the 5th fret sounds OK) to C#m (Barre A# form on the 4th fret sounds out) or try getting this chord to sound right 000141517. In other words I think there is a problem with the neck (fret spacing?) though having said that, I also have an ASAT tribute that sounds just fine. Oh, you may also find that the tone and volume pots are a bit scratchy (they have been on both Tributes I've owned)
