FYI, Splicit has splicing blocks

and kits, for both 1/4" and 1/2" I think there were a few people looking for them a while back.

I've not dealt directly with them, but I think others here have bought tape from them.

Oh wow, they have the aluminum blocks in now! Sweet! I've got the older wooden blocks, but haven't had any problems out of them, both the 1/4" and 1/2" sizes. I've bought a handful of things from Splicit and would definitely recommend them.

Pricing seems fair too. I really, REALLY wish they had 1" splicing blocks!

I use them all the time and bought a 1/2" block from them a year or two go.
