So i recently just discovered this new way to mix vocals. I send the tracks to a bus channel. On the bus channel i put
de-ess
cutting eq with no gains
Renaissance axx compressor
APP-550 A(with a boost in the high freq.)
Enigma
Stereo Enhancer(on hooks/stacked vocals)
What do you like to do on yours??

It all depends on the vocals and what produciton sound you are after.

I do very little to vocal tracks.
Usually nothing more than some EQ to adjust the low end.

The thing is if you have say 4 main vocal tracks and 4 vocal backing tracks you would maybe be best making 2 groups and bussing the main vocals to 1 and the backing vocals to another becuase you will maybe want different EQ, comp, desser settings etc.. for main as you would for backing.

Drive the input and limit the output until it's bleeding then do it again

but i do rap music so for the most part i wont even have that many main or backing, i make one group for main vox & one for the hook and then if i want something specific on something i just put it on it as an insert.....this also saves on processing power :)
