What are some good fuzz effect pedals? I found out a particular song used a Fuzz Factory pedal but I can't find much information and they are way too much ($300). Any ideas? Thanks.

Go to thegearpage.net for more information and conjecture than you possibly could want or need on fuzztones. A great resource for pedals et all.

See you there!

Does anyone know if the DOD Flashback Fuzz is any good? I've read mixed reviews, and it's not very expensive.

You must have some big balls. I wish I was at the gearpage.net

But I am not.

Don't you think if this guy did a search here at HR he could get the information he needs just as well if he searched at the other BBS?

Or how about you post what you think is a good fuzz pedal?

Then again, you can just go pushing this other BB like its the place to get info better than here.

Oh, and one more thing...

Never used it, but the BigMuff is the most famous/popular.

I've done searches -- lots of them, and I it mentioned like once or twice but nothing much on how good it was. I was asking about the Flashback Fuzz not "what's the best one?" if I wanted to know that I'd go to one of the many threads for that sort of thing.

Big Muff was another I was eyeing though.

C'mon, dude. You know you want this one. It's exactly like the Big Muff without all the pretense. ;) :p

i mentioned this in an earlier thread on fuzz pedals. any of the stuff you buy at guitar center is going to be, at best, average when it comes to fuzz pedals. the reason zach vex who makes the zvex fuzz factory charges so much is because he hand makes them, has them hand painted and they sound a helluva lot better than mass produced boxes. i had the fuzz factory; it was a nice pedal, difficult at times to control but with patience it sounds very good. personally, my favorite is the fulltone '69 pedal. pure germanium fuzz!!! with a brit sounding tube amp it nails about every hendrix tone you could imagine. besides, guys like rich robinson of the black crowes and keith richards use it which gives it an extra cool vibe. check out www.fulltone.com so far, i've used mike fuller's octa fuzz as well which is also a friggin great pedal
adios,
Blake

I haven't tried the DOD but I'm not super keen on their pedals unless it's something gimmicky like an envelope filter.

Why not a ProCo Rat fuzz pedal?

My apologies Outlaw, I had two questions in different posts, didn't remember what my first one was. I'll check out the Fulltone. I'm primarily a drummer, but I do recording stuff on my own too and I want a fuzz, but don't want to spend 300 bucks on a Fuzz Factory (if I was a dedicated guitarist though, I might). Any other pedal suggestions welcome and any opinions on the DOD would be great too, thanks.

What do you guys think of this: http://www.music123.com/Electro-Harmonix-Double-Muff-Fuzz-i129461.music

I'm not very picky just as long as the pedal doesn't produce muddy garbage, heh. If you were gonna play 60s rock would you use the DOD or the Double Muff?

I haven't ever used a Double Muff...mainly due to the lack of a tone control or volume control.

IMO those are key components to making a pedal usable.

Have you looked at a Fuzzface? Its a little more than the DoubleMuff, but you might be able to find a used one on eBay.

Anybody ever used Shen-Ei fuzz pedals? Apparently some guy around where I live is selling one and he said it had a wah but it died so now the fuzz bypasses better or something. Thoughts?
