The computer 20 years from now will have eliminated the analog vs. digital discussion.

...hope it will have some fair answer, is DJ a musician ?

Well it may not be digital at all so that's true. But people will always love the sound of analog equipment. Even when computers are a far more faithful reproduction method. Tape is fun!

Agree with you Jake, even with the most advanced digital tech, nothing beats the analog way. I'm a digital big fans in work terms, but for the warmth, I'll go analog tape. Taste plays here...;)

Bio qubit computers will revolutionize computing within 15 years. Your processor upgrade may come in a vial in twenty years.
Memory and processing will be indistinguishable, storage will be cellular.

Yes, an electrical current in a superconducting ring flowing simultaneously clockwise (1) and counterclockwise (0).
tada-> a quantum computer, I wonder if Volcano can make a cooling system for that bad boy.

Probably so locked down by microsoft and hollywood that the only thing you can do with it is look at the 166871354687853th episode of neighboughs.

 Hah?

Disney already owns the world...didn't you know that?;)

Shhh! I think I heard a mouse growl!:(

I don't think a cooler is needed at Zero Fahrenheit
;)

PEACE and SPEED

Well... That ...was..like the ...punch line...get it???
I guess my delivery was off.
;)

...I hate to see the fact that almost nowdays mobo came with built in Sound card, LAN card/Modem raiser thingee, VGA on board, etc... It's quite rare we find ones without those. Can we just pick our own please... How many time we have to dissable 'em ?

Zero Fahrenheit will make ice.

You need near zero, *Kelvin*

You said it man.

you know message boards have really become the "analog" of the computer internet communication world, i mean just think about it, if message boards are analog then the video chats are the "digital", I mean nothing beats typing messages and reading the funny replies but then theres others who take the more direct approach using vid chat...i mean the similarities between what we talk about and what we use, I think most of us are in agreeance here....about computers

I want a real "band" in a computer that will record for me. lets say a "real" drummer it "listens" to you lets say you play a guitar part and then the drummer "plays" something to fit it. and that then anoates for other instrument players as well. now that would be neat, but then again by this time everyone should be dead. ah well,

Well halfwaydecent, this would fall under the realm of software which is falling rapidly behind hardware development. The feats of computing you speak of are very possible with the hardware in your average home computer. The software is the limiting factor now.

Calling all programmers.

the major next step I think really lies in hardware development. Specifically speaking remote power. None of this plugging shit into the wall. Everything has to be self sufficient. Sending information via wires is always going to be the slowest approach.

I can't wait for the "Digital vs. Quantum" discussions that future computers will bring.

Oh, and sending information through wires will probably always be the fastest way. We just don't want radio/microwave transmissions that are powerful and fast enough. May when we start sending our MP3s through worm holes, this will change :) but until then, I'm quite happy with the wires.

lol

yes, the alternative...or wireless...means transmitting radiation through the airwaves...right through everything, walls, hills, trees, humans...
