I'm moving my studio from Fort Worth to my hometown, MIneral Wells, TX.

I signed a 2 year lease last Thursday on a 106 year-old building in the downtown area of Mineral Wells.

About 1875 sq.ft. for $350 a month. It's got a year-old central HVAC unit, a brand new 40 gal. water heater and a new roof.

Here's a pic of the exterior and the existing floor plan.

Be happy for me. :D

Is security going to be an issue with that place? Those big rooms are begging to be broken into...

I assume you're ripping down the middle dividing wall and generally doing some reconstruction.

I just found a place, 2100 sq.ft with 22' ceilings for 750/month but I haven't signed the lease yet.

The only way in is through the front. I'll be having it alarmed as well as placing physical barriers at windows and both front doors.

Absolutely! The floorplan is only as it is at present. I'm having a ball playing around with how to configure the interior.

Super!!! Best of luck to ya'!

I had no clue you were from Texas! I live in SA. A few hours away from you! AWESOME.

Yea, this place looks great... the stone walls should provide you with great proofing.. if only i could have a place like that...... if only i could have a place...

Looks like a great bargain and a lot of fun to be had.

Make sure you keep us posted as you develop your layout and do your construction work.

Cheers,
Darryl.....

Christine,

I'm looking at between 120/160 days. I've got projects booked and need to finish those before moving the studio. And I've got much work to do inside the space as well.

After I get the studio up and running, I'm going to put in an acoustic music instrument store in a small part of the building.

Do you know where this is? Next to Bennett's By The Baker on N.E. 1st. Ave., across from the Baker.

Sure I do, I live right up the hill from Bennet's! I can see the Baker from my house! I am really excited to hear about your coming here. We need a good music store/studio. If I can be of any assistance when you get the ball rolling I would love to be involved. (If for no other reason than to have something to do! :)

Christine

Earl!

Does that mean you are moving away from me!
Crap!

Well, you ought to flourish there. Mineral Wells ought to be home to a LOT of acoustic oriented music. Your place will have the ideal vibe for it.

Let me know before you go, maybe we can get together for old time's sake at the Panther City Coffe shop or something.

Tom

Yep! A whoppin' 48 miles! :D

My band, Blue Valley, is playing at Artistic Blends this Friday. It's the old Wedgewood Theatre on Granbury just south of 820. Sorry Badger...

There's going to be 3 bluegrass bands that night. Come check it out.

BTW, once I move the studio I'm going to start recording some other genres as well.

Peace out,

Earl
