lol, and let me throw you a REAL curveball on this issue: what about subkicks? how do those fit into the "size doesn't matter" scheme?

The amount of mass needed to be moved it gives it a terrible high frequency response, which leaves you with a lot of low end...

i'd have to buy kick mic, i have a condenser i could use as a overhead and for room effect i guess i could use my edirol as well. would that work mshilarious/dross?

i also have a digi 001 to use but god i hate protools

Maybe. I'm not up-to-date on any of the two-channel jobbies, although I may pick up a Zoom H4n for quick-and-dirty work.

You'd just need to transfer the tracks to a computer or something, then line them up in your software. Just hit a couple of stick clicks in the beginning, and drag the waveforms in line. No problem.

ya that zoom looks great, XLR/1/4 inputs would be grand, i love my edirol but that looks so much better and easier to work with.

What's nice is that after going through Harvey's thread again, plus other comments, I learned even more than I knew before!
