Thanks for your help guys. I now understand that I need to buy a phantom power unit if I buy a condenser mic. I'm starting to learn !

A follow up question : I have a SM58 which I use live with my band. Would the B1 deliver much better results for recording vocals and acoustic guitar than the SM58 ?

For acoustic guitar, I'd say most definately. For vox, I'd say it depends on your voice, style, etc.....

On my own voice, if I only had those two mics, I'd be reaching for the 58.
