I am having issues with FST on my MS Vista. I can export tracks to my PC but I cannot import back to my HD24 drive. When I click on the import tab in FST the program locks up. I did upgrade FST to the latest version.

Has anyone else experienced this problem; if so, what did you do to fix it.

Thanks.

I just got off the phone with the Alesis tech support and the FST program for the Fireport is not yet supported on Win Vista.

Looks like I will be installing XP Pro on my PC this weekend. :(

...Or Not.

I backed up my files and started to try running my Win XP CD. There are issues with my PC that Win Xp does not like, so it looks like I am staying on Vista. I do have the Home Premium version, so I guess I can upgrade it so I can use a virtual PC to load XP, so I can use the FST app until Alesis releases a version compatible with Vista.

I've been suffering with the exact same symptoms you described since purchasing a new computer with Vista last January. After several contacts with Alesis support I've fianally figured out that they have no intentions of spending the time or effort to patch FST/Connect for Vista operation. I use a cumbersome work-around that seems to at least allow two-way transfers but it's painfully slow, here's how it works.
Transfer your files into your PC as FST is designed and when you're ready to transfer back to the HD24 drive plug in a USB portable hard drive and copy the files to it as a normal file transfer (this is a painfully slow process compared to normal FST operation). Next, find a computer with XP or 98 and load FST/Connect. Then transfer your files from the portable hard drive to the second computer and use FST connect to move them back to the HD24 drive. Fortunately I have two computers in my studio and have them both connected to the FirePort so the only plug in and out operation is for the USB drive. I'm sure that somebody else has figured out something that works slicker, but this will get you through.

Well that sucks!!!

I have kept my Win 2000 PC around to transfer files back when I need to. I use a thumb drive to get it from my Vista PC to that one.

I have since decided to mix from SONAR, so dumping back to the HD24 is not as critical anymore.
