Oade M148 2 channel DC powered mic preamplifier. Transformer Based(Jensen). THis pre sounds amazing.., signature rich, warm, sound that has a nice punch, similar sound to the neve portico 5012(also transformer based) . The only reason I am considering selling is because I have two(one of which i will NEVER sell) and want to try something different perhaps. These preamps are/were handbuilt by Doug Oade down in Georgia(and are rare due to the fact that they are handbuilt), on the average, it takes about 3 weeks to build just one. He pays great attention to detail. It is strictly DC powered(which is one of the reasons it sounds so great). Due to Doug's declining health, there wont be too many more of these made(if any at all) so Here is a chance to grab one. Recently checked out/ and batteries replaced.(they need replacing every 3 years .) The thing is built like a tank, and in the wrong hands could cause serious trama if wielded as a weapon ;). I am asking 900 firm, which includes shipping, insured. Comes with the proprietary charger.I guarantee that if you like tubes and transformers, the warm, punchy analog-ish sound...you will LOVE this preamp. and the best thing is..no ac needed. Just charge the internal batts overnight and you will get about 8 hours or so of runtime. Batteries only need replacing every 3 years. If interested, contact acousticray@gmail.com

Thanks!

Oh yeah, I stand corrected. Someone else is from the NC hills here I reckon..

either that or I am losing my sanity.

There are a lot of us around . . . actually I'm the newbie, I spent 32 years in VA before moving this summer . . . there's your explanation ;)

Nothing rong with VA neither.

I prefer my good ole' wilmington and the country area about 40 miles outside of it(where we have our land) . Wilmington is a nice town, has every thing one needs without the hassle of a big city.

Good to know other NC folks are here!! I miss it something fierce. Been In germany for 4 years. I havent had a collard one or not one piece of fatback or a taste of boiled peanuts!! no justice i tell you! :D !! I yearn for the southern cookin', and the simple lifestyle. This European living stuff was nice, but my heart is in NC. which city you in??
