I am not sure what Bstage's reply refers to, but I thought I'd let all know that I made a deal with "djderezz" (real name John Copeland, supposedly) to purchase this item. I paid him last Wednesday and have neither received the Omni nor heard from him since that date, despite repeated emails.

My advice: do not deal with this guy!

Report it to the webmaster(dragon) and to your local police department.
 
Kramer, thanks, I will tell Dragon. I did have the sense to use my card via Paypal, so I have notified the latter and my bank. I'll get the money back, just leaves a bad taste -- so I went ahead and ordered a new one to wash it out :-)
 
well, i would never buy from someone whose first post is in the free listing/for sale forum.

but then again, this is my first post :D
 
That did give me pause, but I did a bit of research on the guy and on the deal. And I paid by credit card, just in case something like this should happen.

The main thing I'd do different next time (besides be extra paranoid) is to get the guy's phone number and talk to him first.

In the end, it's not real here, and there are ghosts. I took reasonable precautions, and I got burned. But I have ghost insurance.
 
ghost insurance is priceless. it's true though -- everyone gets scammed at some point in life. here's to better luck for you in the future :)
