fruity loops studio help

I am using the computer keyboard to play sounds to record loops for beats. The sounds used to record exactly as I played them to the piano roll and playback just the same. Well, the problem is that now when I record a loop, it does not record to the piano roll, but shows up as the lit up buttons. The loops wont record for more than 1 bar and they play back in the same key. If you cant really help me with an answer, please let me know wich forum to direct this question to where I could get some answers. Thank You
