Fruity Loops - Something Wrong, Need Help

So here I am programming a DFH drum track in FL using the piano roll. All of a sudden, I can't select the specific location I want the pattern to start playing (i.e. on the thin bar at the top between the scroll bar and the actual patterns). Instead, it starts from the beginning. This is a huge annoyance, since I do my drums as one sequence rather than patterns. I opened a fresh session in FL and everything works fine. Reopen my drumtrack...no luck. So apparently, I've accidently selected some kind of selection method I don't want. Any help on this one? Thanks in advance.

well, for starters try using the "pattern" window in FL.....it sounds like you aren't at the moment.

you'll also need to set it to SONG not PATTERN.

Thanks shackrock, that was all it was. I've used FL for at least 3 years and never noticed that before (I feel stupid that I overlooked the simplest thing). Actually, however, it was that I had accidently swithced it TO song mode FROM pattern mode.

See, I now prefer to work without the pattern mode of FL when doing my drum tracks (I think that's what you were suggesting I do). I used patterns for about 2 years, but found that it increases the likelihood that the drums will sound sterile and lifeless; thus, I do them all in sequemce - takes more time, but worth it, imo. Thanks again.
