JR#97: The drums are a touch loud aren't they? As for the cymbals, I agree - after listening today when my high end isn't as fried they are louder than required.
Gidge: Yeah the vocals vary in volume, not intentional in the verse sections. You see, what happens is I'll do one verse complete, and then the next verse complete, both on the same track. These then get bussed to a group fader called 'lead vocals'. What I should do is record them on two seperate tracks so I have more control, but I was a bit lazy yesderday. The acoustic tracks are intended to be redone. Those were a takamine direct, more for scratch tracks when we put the drums down (2 years ago). I intend to redo them with the Guild or some other guitar if I can remember how to play the song. It's tuned DADGBD so it's a bit of a memory game. Lead at the end for sure.
mixmkr: Thanks for the comments. Never thought much about Grand Funk but I suppose it's possible. Only song I know theirs is 'Were an American Band' we come into your town... I'm sure I've heard others though.
soundprizm: Yep guitars are thin sounding, will corrected in Revision B.
JMarcomb: Yeah the vocals do have some problems with levels, I'll do something to fix that. Thanks for checking it out.
muzeman: You got it! There will be piano starting after the first Chorus.
jamal buchet: These are not programmed drums. Yep vocals get lost in spots, seems to be the concensus. Glad you liked it and thanks for listening.
Kramer: Hear Supertramp on this one eh? I guess maybe on some of the vocal harmony stuff, don't know. Thanks!
Guernica: 'Classic Emeric' haha. I guess I have my own sound, as does everyone on the board. One lead coming up. Thanks Guernica!
David: No I didn't play the Drums, Andy Plant did. I suck on drums. I will be sure to check your tune out!
Toki987: Thanks!
CyanJaguar: Same voice channel, MXL 63 into a Mackie. I have been experimenting more angled placement, singing sitting down, standing up that kind a thing! I usually use the Rode NT1 but it's broken. The MXL 63 is hit and miss as well, somedays it works, somedays it don't. Thanks for the comments.
Barometer: Definetly noted the crashes. They may be a little repetitive, but no changing them now. A drop in volume might help. Thanks Barometer.
B.SABBATH: Thanks B.SABBATH. Kings X eh? Never heard of them, I'll have to see if I can snag an mp3 somewhere and check them out.
mkg: Your students dig it eh? Cool, I thought kids only listened to punk or dance music these days! Thanks mkg.
twist: Thanks for the listen. Low vocals noted. As for influences on this tune, I'm really not sure. I'd say there is a bit of Zeppelin in this tune. As for influences in general, Supertramp, The Beatles, Zep, The Who, Alice Cooper, YES etc etc. The classic bands of a bygone day.
pglewis: I thought the accordian was hard to hear for sure, bagpipes? Don't think so! Thanks for the ideas though, I'll run them by the producer.
Thanks for the feedback all.
