Ok, the file size is 97,651KB.
Tried playing it through windows media player and was told "invalid media type", so I guess I need to try and save it as an Mp3.

97MB is pretty big:eek:

Rendering/converting to MP3 sounds like a good idea...

WSFTP is the one that I've had success with. It is the very first download on that "FTP clients thread" link above...

Says "ws_ftple.exe (707 k)".

{light bulb appears above Q's head}
Nevermind FTP.

Maybe an easier way around is to use some space with an upload script!!!

Sign up at nowhereradio.com, and upload there!!!

different computer downstairs

Is the downstairs machine not connected to the 'net?

Do you have a way to get the file to the machine that is? (CD/Zip/network)?

Then upload the MP3 to nowhere radio, and delete the thing after I get it!

Finally got it convrted to mp3, however, ntracks insisted I save it at 16bit which made it sound kind of cheesy. You decide. Let me see about getting it up to nowhere.
I'm getting a bit of an education in the process with this. If you don't like what you hear you won't hurt my feelings! I'm not doing much of anything tomorrow if you'ld like it changed, redone, whatever.

That's the beauty of this place. :)
All egamakatin eech uvahs. ;)

Lemme know if you get things up to nowhere...

Good grief! I just tried signing up, and not having a web site is holding me up. Do I need to create a website or can I list this site? What do I do?

Gonna run up to the store and grab some Rolaids! :D

Hmmm, I just tried playing it from the site and it stopped about 15 seconds short. I'm starting to feel real inept. I hate having to read directions, but I guess I'm going to have to go through the Ntrack and nowhere radio stuff in the morning.

I'm pouring myself a Rum and coke and defering to easy stuff for the rest of the night!

Gotta go bug Waldo...

After all that... aargh...
I can't download the file...

Don't feel bad, I can't download my song on Nowhere either.

Maybe it is a server load issue, I'll try to post a message to Waldo over on the nowhere forums...

Yeah, that's wild. I'm sure the problem is on my end. Perhaps the way it was saved or converted. When I tried to download it and see if it would play through to the end I was told ie couldn't open the site.

I saw in another thread that the site was down to to having the power yanked.
This is almost comical. Two day effort, anticipation builds, finally the piece is listenable, you hear it and say...."Dude, that sucks!" :D

From Waldo:

Yes, it seems that the building manager decided to rework the wiring tonight, so no power for the server for another few hours at least.

Worst case, power will be restored Monday.

Grip,
Downloaded AOK here. (Finally) ;)

Sounds very good. Worth the wait. (Of course I'll have to wait until I get home to lay it in with the song.) Did you time things to fit the song or will I need to edit and comp things up? I wuz just wondering cuz the song is 4:31 and your script is 5:47.

Anyhow, thanks 10**6.

Great work.

Queue,
Actually, I got so wrapped up in trying to get a halfway decent sound that I paid no attention to length! You can do one of two things. You can just edit some of the dead space to fit, or have me redo it. Your choice. If you want to use it as is, fine.
I'd be more than happy to redo the thing with attention to time and quality. I was still learning how to use some of the hardware and software. You provided more of a learning experience than you know!
Anyway, whatever you want to do. If I redo it, it wouldn't be ready til saturday, as I'm stuck going back to D.C. for a couple days.
Lemme know.

BTW-how do I delete it now that you've got it?

Grip,
It is actually quite good, Reminds me a bit of Pink Floyd's "Learning to Fly".

I kinda plopped it in place, and it sounds nice. I guess I could obsess and chop it all up and squish it all around, but it kinda fits nicely and ends before he gets things under control. I'm experimenting with panning the voices to different sides.

Any chance you could do a remix and pan those separate parts L and R? I guess if you leave the noises and such center?

I like the cameo 'credit' in there "uh Get a Grip, Bob...". :D

I poked around, seems the only way to delete something there (for now) is to email Waldo. If you upload something with the same name, it will replace the original, so you could also go that route, and edit the song description.
