mixmkr-Ah, I see, yeah. I was thinking maybe it would make it a little more 'edgy', since, as some have said, it's a bit Partirdge Family or bubblegummy. I'm actually torn on whether that's a bad thing

, and it's hard to escape, especially when we have the male/female vocal. I suppose I'll leave all the strings and crap, since that's what we've been doing on all the others. Thanks.
crawdad- I was hoping you'd check this remix out, thanks! I did try to make space for things. Regarding the vocals, my chain is a Rode NTK to an Api repackaged thing (Brent Averill) to a Distressor to Paris. That should be decent I would think (though I'm not so thrilled with the Rode NTK anymore), but I think the distortion is, of course, pilot error. I think I just over did it on the Distressor with too much compression and the harmonic distortion thing it's got. I think it might be alright on a single lead, but when there's the two vocals, maybe it gets to be too much. Plus, then in the mix, I added a little Ren Vox compression

. And then a little reverb.
Have you noticed this in all the songs, or just this one?
Pilot error is the main reason I'm so fed up with home recording, I'm so sick of not knowing what I'm doing, and trying to get results beyond what I'm capable of. It would be great to make a real record, with an engineer who new what they were doing! (The big advance would be kinda cool too,
or even a small one
)
Btw, I'm writing a little song that was insprired by a thread of yours, and I'm gonna try and do it real quick, not worrying about the recording at all, and not with a million tracks like I always do. Just as a little game to get myself out of this rut I'm in.
Thanks for checking out the remix, sorry for all the incoherant rambling...
