My father-in-law was getting rid of two oscilloscopes and asked if I wanted to go through them for parts.
Upon opening them I found both of them to have over 24 tubes in each, mostly Telefunken tubes!

A few are the size of my fist and a few a bit smaller but the rest (about 18 from each scope) are all of good size for tube microphones and preamps. ;)


I will have lots of fun trying these out for sure! Any left over I'll get them posted up here and let people have a whack at them.
 
I appreciate the offer Henry, but i actually don't own anything with tubes.

I think my marshall 8080 might have a tube in the preamp, but if it does you wouldn't know :p
 
In the 8080 the clean channel goes straight, the distortion goes through that 12AX7, if memory serves me well.
 
Wow. Nice find! Can't beat free stuff.

I know all those tubes are probably taking up SO much space, so, ya know, I'd be happy to take one off your hands for my Apex 460 :D

It will take me awhile to sort them all out and test.
There are more here than I'll use in my life time.

You wanna sell one of those oscilloscopes? In tact with the tubes?
I've been lookin' to buy one for my electronic setup for performing "live".
If you do,..get at me.
 
I can understand if you don't want to part with one due to findin' the tubes.;)

Both were only designated as parts units. I think that the scopes are blown on them maybe a few other things wrong I'm not that sure. I didn't ask any other question other that are the TUBES GOOD! ;)

Got that right. :D

But you know Vessel I do have another one that is somewhere in the basement or attic that I haven't used in years but when I put it away it was working. I'll search for it and let you know.
