I like this kind of stuff!! This is clean! Good guitar tone. Great vocals (this dude sounds like Bon Jovi) a real quality vocal here. I love the lengthy guitar solo and instrumental jam towards the end, it kinda went prog-metal for a bit there. A well balanced mix imo. When nothing "pokes me in the ear", I call it a good mix. The only thing I would have reconsidered, if I had a great voice like that, are those melodic volume swells (whale calls) following the vocal lines in the verse. I wanted to hear his vocal pure and vulnerable there with nothing to distract.
I'd buy their record! :D

Hey Brad,

Thx for your reply bro! I'll try without those "whale calls"

Check this video mate... same record... a little more metal-prog song.

This is really awesome! The guitar tone is smooth. The vocals are a bit airy though. Bring some bass into them. I like the use of the synths in the chorus. Gives it a nice full sound. The drums need to come up and add a bit more bass. Other than that, it sounds really good.

thx mate!
for the bass guitar, you mean more bass level, eq, or better compression for more sustain? I've Samson resolv 50a monitors and I think they send me low bass frecuencies so I use phones and a home music system to set the right level for bass(using other music as reference)

I agree that vocals need a little of bass too... for drums I'll try less ambience.

thx again!

Sweet! Sounds great to me! I could use a tad more bass, too--but that's a tiny nitpick considering how great this performance and recording sounds!

You're done. You're a rock star.

Great Stuff - Mix sounds well balanced to me.

Thx for your words bro!

btw I loved your tutorial "Stereo recording an acoustic guitar"
any problem to do that with a Rode NT1-A and Behringer B-2 Pro?

regards!

youd be better sticking this up in the Marketing forum...apart from this being the mix clinic threads disappear from the front page pretty quick...nice tune btw

Sounds OK, honestly a bit dated though, like White Snake or sumtn, IDK.
