These are great monitors.They accurately produce the entire spectrum of the music.I played a Steely Dan cd called "Everything Must Go" for a test and the kick drum is precise,the guitar is perfectly reproduced,the snare drum is crisp like it should be,and the bass guitar is "locked" with the kick.These speakers are fully adjustable according to your room size and acoustics.There's a switch for the woofer of -3db, 0db, and +3 db.I have a fairly small studio so went with the -3db setting.I'm using about 1/4 for woofer volume and 0db or 12 o'clock on the tweeter.My mixer,phono,and cd player/burner are connected to a Yamaha CX-630 pre-amp.The pre-amp outs and going to xlr cables to the monitors.The monitors are set up vertically and so the center of the woofers are at ear level.I was originally skeptical of Fostex as a speaker maker but not anymore.A big bang for the buck is an understatement.
