does anyone know a good site to get old fostex reel to reel recorder parts. I need a reel clamp for either a fostex e-8 or e-16 (the part is the same for either). this is the plastic part that secures the reel to the reel turntable. if anybody has one ill buy it. id also consider buying an entire e-8 or e-16 unit in any condition just to get the part if it is for a reasonable price. email me at

Yo,

You sure they're the same part? E8 is quarter inch, E16 is half inch. G16 uses same as E16. G24 uses a quarter inch clamp with a machined metal spacer to take it out to 1 inch.

Can get you part numbers if it helps - we got nothing in NZ so can't help with locating them sorry

You may wish to try the analogue forum here because some people seem to have Fostex's there too.
