Hello,

I purchased a B16 for 100 bucks, and it's in great shape....Only thing is the drivebelt is worn out and slips of the capstan motor.

So I bought a nice clean belt of ebay, and was excited to replace it...

Was I disapointed when I realised It's impossible! The screws that hold the motor/belt are way too tight and powerglued with Lockbond, the screws themself are of inferior quality and start to morph very easily when applied pressure with a screwdriver...

So the screws are almost immediately f^$%ked , and it's so damn frustrating when you know that you are seconds away from a nice working deck!!!

Is there anybody who succeeded replacing the belt on a B16?

Maybe I'm just out of luck with somebody lockbonding all the screws so that they are stuck forever!

I'm totally going insane about it, I'm thinking about drilling the damn screws to pieces just to get that belt out!!!

Any help would be sooooo apreciated!!

I did it! That was one hardass screw, now finally replaced the Belt! Ofcourse it wasn't possible that it would just work now, so I discovered It's not recording anything :-(
It's monitoring fine though and the levels are corresponding good..
Any help on this forum?
