I've been reading on this site for a few months and noticed a few weird things. Why is there no forum for protools or reason? I have read alot of posts about them in other forums... it just seems strange to me. Also alot of people use fruit loops, battery, neudo no forum for these as well. What the heck is cool edit pro? I just thought that the website was suppose to be focused on home recording, but it's lacking quite a bit.

I guess it would be hard to please everyone, but it would be nice!
If you have any questions or would like to share a thing or two, you can always post in here. You'll always come across someone here using something you got and knowing what they're talking about too!

you dont see protools forum, cause protools is usely the big boys..all the others are the most used by home recorders.....and for the record Adobe Audition is Cool Edit Pro (adobe bought out their company)...and it a real damn home recording program

lol......you might find a few user of PT LE.....but most use others that can get the job done...with less of a learnin curve i guess....tried protools once..and didnt like

just do a search,im sure u will find what u lookin for....some on here is using PT LE for their home setup

and welcome to the family

hey a pro tools forum would be nice tough............I know a few people with LE 001 & 002, we went 10 trillion pounds into debt at the time & got a control 24 mix+ setup but I'm still based at home

so bring on the PTs forum

yeah a pro tools forum would be nice. That section of the forum I usually skip, cause I don't use N-Track, or the likes.

This forum has been around since before there was a Pro Tools version for at-home pC recording. Using PT in a home studio is farely new in terms of recording. Cool Edit Pro has been around since the late 90's. Pro Tools was moving the digi 001 at that point, and HD units to major studios.

Unfortunately, the owner of this site is NEVER around. We've requested the name change of the Cool Edit forum multiple times. It seriously takes about 5 minutes to change the name of a forum through the Admin pannel, but he won't do it.

Many people have requested a PT forum, but it's never been granted. Simply because the person who operates the site, doesn't care....

So, many people use the site at their leasure. Turning forums into the discussion rooms they want, and disregard the names. Hard for newbies, but you'll catch on. The thing is, this forum has some of the best knowledge on recording you can find online. It's amazing the amount of knowledge here... but you have to be patient, and integrate into the forum. If you come off brash, and snobish, no one will care to help you.

I have been lurking around the forums for several months doing alot of reading and yes... there is alot of knowledge here. I just think that the boards need a small update. It's very confusing to new people really looking for help on something.. you don't know which forum to post in. Even after lurking around for months i'm having trouble with knowing where to post my questions. I don't mean to come off as snobish or brash.. but a site like this... and with it being around for soo.. long.. should at least be more up to date. There are lots of protools and reason users on this site.. and we really want to use the site, but where do you post to be able to get an answer to a question?

yeah fair point, but lets be honest anybody who is into music & follows (some of us more than others) a heavilly musical lifestyle then things tend to get forgotten. I can completely forget things I have to do if I get wired into something. I know it's a small thing & it would only take 5 mins but hey sometimes it seems like the hardest 5 mins work EVER. The site may need updating but ya gotta love it

You seemed to have overlooked a very important part of my initial response.

Trust, we feel your pain. However, the owner/operator (Dragon) is the only one in charge, and he either doesn't care, or doesn't have the time to address the needs of the forum.

Most of us are still using free or really cheap software, I guess. And it's not that dragon doesn't care, I think, he's just not around.
