I listened to the first one so far....Your vocals are in the back huh?
I would like to hear them more in the front. Nice one though. :)

Most of them are unfinished with just a vocal scratch track, try "First Street". it is probably the best recording.

I am depressed. I can't get anyone to do my original music with me.
That sucks. I can't either. I don't know why...Oh, mabey it is because I sing like YOKO

No one?
Are you serious or playing with my mind?

I just quit the band I was in for the last two years because they would rather do
30 year old cover tunes than concentrate and focus on original material. I have around fifty tunes ready to go and we were doing about 10.
I played all the bass and guitar and did all the vocals and some of the keyboards on the tunes you listened to, I was lucky to get a drummer and another keyboard player to work with me. They did the studio work but didn't want to play in a band.

I am not all that good..Maybe even crappy(you'll hear several weeks from now, fair warning) but I do not for the life of me understand cover music. If you have music in your heart, then it is truely always moving, changing, and becoming you. How does one do that with cover music? Oh well, I've always been weird. Too bad, you can not get anyone to play your music. It is very good sounds. You are multi-talented! Unlike you, I couldn't play any cover music. I am such a bad musical person I have to do MY own!!! :D

Queztequotal

That one "once upon a time is my fav so far. I love the rhythm and beat. Man you are so talented. Okay, now I should get MY head outta your butt. :D

Simple. Easy money. Most of the clubs in the country bring in cover bands. An all original band will usually have a hard time finding a club or bar that will allow them to play. Those types of bands will have to do outdoor type shows and usually for free until they get going. Cover bands can go right into a club and make money.

It's tough to find people with the same direction in their head. Most musicians want to make easy money. I've found that using several good musicians from different local bands works well. They work with you on your original songs but play in their weekend bar band to make money. If a show comes up and they can do it without conflicting with the bar band then they'll do it. If not, then I try to find a suitable replacement.

That brings me to an even bigger mystery...WTF..If I want to hear Zepplin, Ozzie,Clapton etc, then I will attend a concert, or put a CD in. When I used to go Bar Gliding I would ask the guys in the band if they did any original stuff. Nost answers were, uhhh..not really, or yes, but the bar owner won"t let us play it. These ignorant-arses had taste for sh*t. Not that I thought the bands sucked, but making them do cover did. KANSAS got the bar owner at Sna-fu's or Sna-foo's, (it's been many moons ago) to let them do original on last set. I had never heard of them before. Anyway, they were good on cover, but when they did the last set with their stuff..THEY KICKED ARSE!!! Few weeks later they went on Don Kirsners Rock Concert the rest is History.
So babble, babble on I do. :D
Still, why not listen to Original
These people could be nuttier than I. :D

Actually I'm a huge Kansas fan and have been since their first album back in the mid-70's. The way that actually went down was that Kansas basically 'rented' the bar for the night. They told the owner that they would pay for all draft beer that night so the owner put "FREE BEER Tonight Only" on the marquee so that people would show up. It just happened to be the same night that they had invited Don to show up. Don confirmed that he would be there that night, so Kansas made all the above arrangements with the owner and when Don got there the place was packed and it looked to him like they were a popular group in that area, and he also saw the talent so he signed them. I think it was a bit longer than a week before Kansas appeared on his show, though. ;)

I always thought that "Free Beer" would be a great name for a band. Wouldn't it look great on a marquee? I've just never been able to get an owner to believe that it really was the name of my band!

The difference between you and the 'casual Joe' that frequents bars is that YOU are a musician. You write original music. I think the majority of the musicians I've run across over the years are more interested in making money than original music.

Yeah..well My memory WOULD be hindered just a bit due to ingestation factors. LOL Are you sure that they didn't play there after the meeting with Kirshner, cuz When I talked to a couple of the guys, their date had pretty much been set to go. Like I said, I was pretty wasted myself. It was a real friendly hole in the wall place. It was arm to arm combat to go to the bathroom! It would have been the end of 72' or very begining of 73'.And it was around 3wks later they appeared on Rock Concert. Oh yeah, I don't remember getting any free beer that nite either. :( But either way, KANSAS Rocked that tiny bar right off the ground!! I don't remember which ones, but two of the dudes came over to my house and we burned a couple.I guess I could describe them...they had very long hair, wore very holy jeans, and said *yeah man* a lot, and boy did they have glazy, bloodshot eyes!! So do you recognize any of them? :D LOL It just wasn't that big of a deal back then. Kinda like seein a friend out somewhere and say, hey man you wanna burn one? LOL I can say this. They were really nice guys. And no There wasn't any wild sex or putting holes in walls. If my parents had come home though and took a deep breath, I would have had my arse kicked!! :D

I just listened to dance the nights away....I like that Alley Cat flavour goin on and the geetar. I'm diving in again to say, you are multi-talented, but ya know that already. Got any more to listen to ? :)

I have plenty more but they are not on line. I am beggining to lose my enthusiasm for the whole music thing. I might just hole up in the house and never play again.

You do realize that is certain death for your spiritual well being do you not?!!

I went for almost 15 yrs with very little musical outlet, and felt dead inside.
And all those years lost of experience. :( Won't happen again for me! I'll play and sing til the cows, horses bugs, rats or whatever die from Audio Wave exposer. :D You just need a Muse to stir up those fires again. You'll find it/them..or it/them will find you. ;) Yeah I know, I use the e-mot-a-cons a lot...I like em!
