Microphone, Case and Shipping Box Weight is 10 Lbs!!!
Bought new at $699.00.

The mic is in Great Condition and has seen very little use in my Smoke Free Studio.
It provides a nice smooth sound on guitar amp recording.
Add this to your SM57 when recording guitar amps and blend them for a smooth and bitey sound.
Nice for adding character on Vocals too.

FYI-This Mic is selling on Gearslutz and eBay too.

'The sE Electronics Model-R1 Recording Studio Ribbon Microphone was launched for sale in 2006 for $999.00 but has recently been discontinued. Its single 'Figure of 8' polar pattern is derived from an incredibly fine 1.8 micron Aluminum membrane. As such the R1 has a higher-than-normal frequency roll-off (at around 7KHz), and greater sensitivity, producing a more open and natural sound than you'd expect from a ribbon microphone. You will find that the sE Electronics R1 Ribbon is ideally suited to most recording applications including electric guitar cabs, overhead drum micing, recording brass and woodwind instruments, strings and for commercial broadcast and voice-over. The R1 is packaged in a tough, heavy-duty aluminum flight-case and comes complete with shock-mount."

Is it worth it Henry? I was thinking $300 myself.
That's just about what I'll end up with when all is said and done if it sells. :laughings:
I still question my choice in lowering the price let alone selling it for under $400 as in some shoot-outs it has held it's own with the Royer 122:

Interestingly, a mic that held it's own with a Royer 122 that "Street-Priced" at $799 WELL before the dollar devaluation which is also the same current "Street-Price" as the Royer 101!

I go away for a few days and miss all of the conversation let alone the purchase of the microphone.

Who got this microphone?
