17, and already the owner of a Vintech? Is your last name Gates?:D

With the NTK, I'd probably recommend the Phoenix as well... but as long as you brothers are posting cool rap lyrics... I think these would have been awesome rap lyrics if they hadn't been written in 1965...

Trouble Every Day

Well i'm about to get sick
From watchin' my tv
Been checkin' out the news
Until my eyeballs fail to see
I mean to say that every day
Is just another rotten mess
And when it's gonna change, my friends
Is anybody's guess

So i'm watchin' and i'm waitin'
Hopin' for the best
Even think i'll go to prayin'
Every time i hear 'em sayin'
That there's no way to delay
That trouble comin' every day
No way to delay
That trouble comin' every day

Wednesday i watched the riot...
I seen the cops out on the street
Watched 'em throwin' rocks and stuff
And chokin' in the heat
Listened to reports
About the whisky passin' 'round
Seen the smoke & fire
And the market burnin' down
Watched while everybody
On his street would take a turn
To stomp and smash and bash and crash
And slash and bust and burn

And i'm watchin' and i'm waitin'
Hopin' for the best
Even think i'll go to prayin'
Every time i hear 'em sayin'
That there's no way to delay
That trouble comin' every day
No way to delay
That trouble comin' every day

Well you can cool it,
You can heat it...
'cause, baby, i don't need it...
Take your tv tube and eat it
'n all that phony stuff on sports
'n all the unconfirmed reports
You know i watched that rotten box
Until my head began to hurt
From checkin' out the way
The newsmen say they get the dirt
Before the guys on channel so-and-so
And further they assert
That any show they'll interrupt
To bring you news if it comes up
They say that if the place blows up
They'll be the first to tell
Because the boys they got downtown
Are workin' hard and doin' swell,
And if anybody gets the news
Before it hits the street,
They say that no one blabs it faster
Their coverage can't be beat

And if another woman driver
Gets machine-gunned from her seat
They'll send some joker with a brownie
And you'll see it all complete

So i'm watchin' and i'm waitin'
Hopin' for the best
Even think i'll go to prayin'
Every time i hear 'em sayin'
That there's no way to delay
That trouble comin' every day
No way to delay
That trouble comin' every day

Hey you know something people
I'm not black
But there's a whole lots a times
I wish i could say i'm not white

Well, i seen the fires burnin'
And the local people turnin'
On the merchants and the shops
Who used to sell their brooms and mops
And every other household item
Watched the mob just turn and bite 'em
And they say it served 'em right
Because a few of them are white,
And it's the same across the nation
Black & white discrimination
They're yellin' "you can't understand me!"
And all the other crap they hand me
In the papers and tv
'n all that mass stupidity
That seems to grow more every day
Each time you hear some nitwit say
He wants to go and do you in
Because the color of your skin
Just don't appeal to him
(no matter if it's black or white)
Because he's out for blood tonight
You know we gotta sit around at home
And watch this thing begin
But i bet there won't be many left
To see it really end
'cause the fire in the street
Ain't like the fire in my heart
And in the eyes of all these people
Don't you know that this could start
On any street in any town
In any state if any clown
Decides that now's the time to fight
For some ideal he thinks is right
And if a million more agree
There ain't no great society
As it applies to you and me
Our country isn't free
And the law refuses to see
If all that you can ever be
Is just a lousy janitor
Unless your uncle owns a store
You know that five in every four
Just one amount and nothin' more
Don't watch the rats go across the floor
And make up songs about being poor
Blow you harmonica son!

Ooops. Sorry.:o

If I want good "lyrics" I'll read t.s. elliot, kazanzakis, robinson jeffers, etc. If I want to hear good music I'm completely diggin' my ornette coleman live in ny cd. My newest purchase of a paul hindemith cd also kicks ass. unforunately most hip hop is horrible "music" combined with horrible to mediocre sophmore creative writing 201 lyrics. I've heard some "instrumental' hip hop that wasn't so bad. most "music" sucks anyways. my recent favorite one is dj's who consider themselves jazz musicians. give me a fucking break, I am a jazz musician. beleveive me, they are not.

hey sweet nubs just won the uninformed asshole of the month award...

let's give him a round of applause for being a complete dickhead

i've recorded so many idiotic jackass hip hoppers in my time that I refuse to record anymore of them, ever. I've had my life threatened several times because of my refusals to record hip hop. lucky for me I've got plenty of bikers that owe me favors and clients with mob connections. gangsta rappers piss their little ghetto pants when the bikers and mobsters come for them- fucking impolite, loud mouth braggards that treat my equipment like shit and expect everything for next to nothing. I'd get about 1 in 20 that were easy to work with. They were as bad as all the 80's glam heavy metal bands I worked with back in the day.

So Mr. Nubs--the man with the 'I gargle glass in the morning' attitude--is a jazz purist, a sensative artiste--a self described 'musician'.

Whose ears swoon, only to the sound of Shakespearean sonnets, who scatters rose pedals over his studio floor, gets teary eyed when he hears a classical aria.

PATHETIC.

HTH (hope this helps)

Owe you favors?

If you actually had a clue of either of those camps, you'd keep it so they still "owed you favors"... there is a serious difference between picking up some "cheap" bike parts or merchandise vs. having them do some violence for you.

If you really understood either world, you wouldn't even talk about your "connections".

some more poignant rap lyrics cuz there is NO MUSIC GENRE that can see HIP HOP music in lyrical content NONE...or creativity with rhyme scheme....

"we all trapped on this surface, of this earth-kid
Versus, the PEOPLE that birth-us
is there hope i'm feeling worthless
people worship...MONEY...christians will pray CHURCHLESS.."

Fletcher: By 'Mob' Nubs means the neighborhood kids that are always taking his lunch money.

'Bikers' are the ones that don't use training wheels and no longer ride big-wheels.

BTW, I ordered a U195 and a Speck from your joint last night. Hoping that between the two of those, I'll be able to spank some decent vocal sounds from my 1NV

Speck will have many other uses but, if the U195 needs a db or two shaved off at 15K, I hope that'll be the ticket.

Saying that your genre is inherently better than others is just as bad as saying that a particular genre sucks. You're acting hypocritically.

Cominginsecond: I agree. Maybe Teacher and Nubs should date.

There are genres of music that don't do ANYTHING for me. Classical is one. But I respect the degree of musicianship and technical proficiency required--and I understand that it does move some people.

But it gives me HIVES. And then I start thinking of dudes sitting around in powdered wigs and nylons. To each their own I guess.

ok the nubmeister must come clean. I've never recorded biker blues bands and never did live sound for them. And I've never had any of them mention "if you ever need a favor" after all I did quite a bit of the work for free. Also I've never had members of bands mention their uncles are in the mob and if the hip-hoppers keep giving me trouble that he could get them to do a favor for me (technically for him). not to mention if you've ever worked seriously in the industry you know the music/you-know-what connection. anyhow feltcher I hope you guys did a good job on the 69 drawmer 'cause the '60 sure was a peice of shit. jet-rocker nubs isn't a total prig and I do enjoy good old simple 3 chord music that makes you want to rock out with your cock out, but once you get older you will realize the subtlety and beauty of a classical composition. peace out trouser trouts.

It's all right--I'm blinded by the sweetness of your nubs anway.
