yup, put some crisp here and there and turn up the vox.
p.s. your scarin me Zeke, tighter 'n hell over what you`ve done before. Stay in the studio leave that camera to the dumbasses. :)

Hey, it sounds way better on my home speakers. I can hear the bass and the floor tom a lot more. But I couldn't hear the vocals that well anymore. Weird.

Something else I thought of as I listened to it again: You might try double tracking the guitars in the chorus to get it a little heavier.

Overall, nice job.

thanks toki. About the dumass thing, i need some excitement outside of the studio! But trust me, the dumass thing will NEVER take the place of my recording.

Deth, the guitars are doubled. do you mean double them again at the chorus? One thing that driving me crazy is the cliping, it took like forever to get that guitar sound to were it wouldn't distort. I can't understand it. the guitar ch level was about mid way, but the master level was cliping......

The drums and bass are well done. There's a couple of slight tempo things at the transition points. I think the guitar needs to come through a lot more. It would be better to mic your amp. Playing thru the amp would give it more of that grungy drop D menacing kind of tone. Good version though, I've been thinking about covering this one myself

Yeah what Bulls Hit said. I was thinking that doubling the guitars would make them sound "meaner." But I thought it was a single track through an amp. Were you using a pod? If so, mic an amp, and mix that with the pod signal. That might be pretty cool. You really need an upfront guitar signal for this song.

Also, I just listened to the real version, and I think you are playing the song wrong. On the chorus's, your rhythm is off on the guitar riff. I think. You might want to check anyways.

Sorry to be so critisizing. :( Hopefully tomorrow I can get something up here, and you can tell me everything I did wrong. :D The only problem is the computer is upstairs and the ADAT downstairs, so something has to get unplugged and moved so I can get music posted here.

I'm listening to this again and have noticed a few things that I didn't before. First, is the bass distorted too? Ha, that's always fun I say. I think the drums sound a bit too plain, you can hear how plain they are in the beggining when they first come in. Also, did you use a pop filter when you were recording vocals? If not, you should get one, I never record vocals without it. I can hear the PAH's on the Beautiful PEO-PLE's.

Yeah, i had one, but some motha' fuc'a stole it when they broke into my studio. haven't goten another one yet. Yeah, the bass is distorted (my first time :D) on the drums, i was trying to get them to sound as dead as possible, but i was out of remOs so, i just didn't apply any revurb.

thanks for the reply!

Aw man, I forgot that you were robbed :-/. Well, dispite being robbed, I think it stills sounds good.

Damn,

I just love the sound of them drums!!

You are correct, this is one fine production!!

This type of tune can usually come off sounding pretentious, but not a hint of it in this tune, very honest sounding.

The whole package is very catchy, got to give it a ten.

Great work!!!

GT

Great Stuff Zeke.. although I don't know how that will go over when you're performing at your next church function;) MM's got quite a few overdubs on his voxs like in the part "the beautiful people.. aaaaaaaaaaa". There's more lower voices there that were missing from yours, but real good stuff, especially considering no click track (better than I'd get out of my shit-storm studio... but that really isn't saying much). Glad to see you're up and running again!

Tom.

thanks!

Thanks GT! I'm going to over dubb the vocals soon. just the main ones it think.

Fmmah- thanks. I did record some lo tone vocies.
