Had this whole grerat post and the board didn't put it up. That's ok, I'll just be more simple this time. If you can, take a listen and let give me some feedback. A lot of what I've been reading here went into this, so let me know if I'm getting it.

Thousand Hour Scream

great song! really liked it. sounds a little bit of The Cure influence.
Nice singing voice and nice guitars bass and drums. Song sounds very original.
The only thing I didn't like was about the 3 min mark, the change seemed not quite right to me. Liked the change towards the end. But hey, if you liked it, go for it.

I like you bass sound on this - clear & tight.

Vox sound good too, bit more verb than I'd use but still good. Not sure about that change at 3.00 - there's a lack of clarity about those guitars

Thanks thanks thanks, appreciate it. Anything other than that change that I should pay attention to, mix wise that is?

Thanks again Slipp, and by the way, you nailed that Cure influence like a 2X4.
:D

sounds good to me, except that effing long reverb on the vox that does not fit with anything.

pretty good song btw

Yeah, that's already been curtailed to a great amount. I caught that after I put that one up, but I didn't feel the need to go back and re-up the track since the rest of it is all there.

Tahnsk for the compliment, I'm glad you liked it!

holy shit i wish i could mix and record as good as that!!! what do you mainly use?

It's all bullshit. Guitar POD, Alesis drum machine... I'm pretty much faking it the whole way. Still, it's getting the tones and mixing he sounds like you would for anything else, I just take a lot of the engineering out of it. It's limiting in a lot of ways, but it's conveniant and doesnt take up a lot of space, and I get to get my ideas out. As long as people listen and enjoy it, I don't worry about the other stuff too much. It's the songs that are the most important thing.
