I like this a lot. I wish it was longer though with an extended jam in the middle and/or end.
I wish the drums and bass came up a bit, but the whole thing sounds great. Why no piano footage?
I love the guitar sound. That is exactly the kind of sound I go for a lot of the time. Nice looking guitar too.
I think the bass tone is great. Tons of attack to it. I think you could bring it up some without fear of clouding things up, 'cause it isn't boomy at all now or anything.
Hey heat - thanks for checking it out! I think we've confirmed that the bass has some room to move up. I agree that there's not a lot of boom so I should be able to bump it.
There is no piano footage cause I forgot to hit record on the flip, i got a good audio take, it was late, I knew I still had to render the video and upload and I couldn't bear to do it again. The video adds an additional layer of complexity and pressure, but it is so much fun I'm addicted.
I'm getting into the guitar sound too after a big amount of playing around I returned to where I started. Middle position, all tone and volume controls on the guitar on full. Treble on the amp up quite a bit. I think it could use a little more bite/pressure from some more gain - but I'm getting into the range of being able to repeatably capture the sound I like - which is a dramatic departure from six months ago when my results were completely random. The guitar is a real joy to play and was relatively inexpensive Gretsch reissue of the electromatic - about $800 with soft case and strap. Peanuts compared to what I see some guitars going for now. The mind boggles at the prices they are asking.
As for an extended jam - that is a really good idea. I was pretty on the money on the beat and parts so I should be able to chop out an entire verse and chorus and stick it in the middle. It would be awesome if you wanted to give it a shot ripping on that. I absolutely loved the tone and style of what you did on Jesus Hates You. Those layered ethereal vocals were pretty on the money too

Anyway - this has been my adventure lately - practicing a lot, working on a 'sound' and it's been a lot of fun. I'm pretty psyched to get back to real recording in a couple months.
