flush mount

hi all,

ok, maybe I am dumb or plain stupid. But I have no experience with Studio building and acoustics, and I have no idea what Flush Mounting is. I am intending to buy monitors so I hear I have to 'flush mount', so it would be a great help if somebody could tell me in plain simple terms what exactely it is.

I did to a search on this board, but from all the posts I still couldn't quite figure it out...

Speakers mounted in the wall with the front of them on the wall surface. This keeps the sound from the rear of the speakers from bouncing off the wall behind them and making more bass waves .
