Flat Response Monitoring Headphones

As of right now, i have a crappy pair of sony headphones which i use to monitor my acoustic guitar and other such instruments while playing. through the headphones, it sounds very muffled and toooooooo much mud. so i'm looking for some accurate flat responce headphones that won't let the sound bleed from them into my mics. any suggestions?

What pricerange are we talking about here? I would recommend Audio Technica ATH-M40fs or Sennheiser 280's as decent tracking phones. Both are less than $100. If you need more isolation, you might try the Extreme Isolation phones. I hear they don't let sound bleed, but the frequency response may leave something to be desired.

Sennheiser HD280's. Great isolation, you can crank them, put the two cups together and still hear nothing but silence. I prefered them to the Extreme Isolation, which had comparable isolation but not nearly the sound quality.

the other one is for ? zurawski ? :D

i have here akg 240df and an an alessandro ms1

want to buy an ultrasone later but the platinum driver modells are tooooo expensive now.
