Fixing a Reverby Room?

The room I choose to setup my equipment up in is too reverby for my liking for hip hop artist but it's close to perfect for r&b artist IMO of course I'm new to this though. Is there a way to take reverb out of a persons voice use EQ or some other sign processing?

I didn't realize there was a distinction.

Setup absorber panels, aka gobos (go-betweens) in the room around the mic/vocalist to deaden the reflections.

Unfortunately John, once you record something in a not so acoustically great room...for the most part it will be almost impossible to doctor up the track(s).

Believe me, most of the stuff I've recorded was in my grandmother's basement. Needless to say, the tracks need more work than anything out there. I've tried it all, nothing will work unless you first record in a half decent environment.

The only thing that I did which helped out "okay", was use a very tight gate on the vocals. It eliminated a decent amount of the room's crappiness.
