I used to post mixes here several years agon, but for a variety of reasons I have not been recording in a long time.

Tonight I tracked using a new set up, and I wanted to get some feedback from you all.

I just setup an account using soundclick (a new thing to me). As I recall, we used to upload our MP3s directly here.

The song is the old fiddle song Wildwood Flower.

Thanks for listening, and I appreciate your feedback on how the guitars sound.

Thanks,
Steve

Played the rhythm for this a few times.....:D Sounds pretty good - the rhythm guitar has a nice bass tone to it, almost like a standup. The lead (IMO) might be too far away. I would like it closer sounding but that's just me...
Great playing...brings back memories....:D

the guitars sound great!!! tone is very good. i like the mix. is the lead in the beginning a guitar?? it has a cool mandoliny sound if it is.

Great tones.
the lead instrument & rhythm chimes together well. Nice stuff.

Yes, the first lead picking is a Gibson A-9 mandolin; the rhythm track is a D-28, and the guitar flatpicking is a D-18. There is a mandolin chop track and a little dobro track there too if you listen carefully. In all, there are five tracks.

The quality is a step up from the TASCAM US-428 I used to use. This was tracked using a Studio Projects B1 > M-Audio DMP3 > Echo Mia-Midi soundcard.

I really had fun last night doing it; I see lots more tracking in the future!

Steve
