My first recording on my new Pro Tools LE system. This was recorded in a bedroom with a pair of overhears on the drums and a mic each on the kick and snare. I don't have an amp of any sort so the bass and guitars are going through amp simulators. I'm not a very good guitarist I'm afraid but my drumming isn't bad.

What do you think about the quality of the recording (not the song - that's a load of shite I made up as I went along).

I think your overheads are kinda low and the kick mic is too loud. What kinda mics are you using? Good sound, just not very well balanced

It sounds pretty good. I agree thast I might like to hear a bit more of the overheads, but not a lot more.

agree
wat mics?
i really dig the bass
and the snare...
nice work
guitars wer good too

They are SP B1s over the top, a SM57 on the snare and an old AKG d12 in the kick. They are new too. I've been using some crappy mics as overheads up until now so I'm used to overlooking them a little.

I think you're all right about the mix. I tend to like the kick right up in your face, a bit like Rage Against the Machine. I guess the drums are the loudest thing because I'm a drummer. :p

I like those B1s, I just used one on a 5 song acoustic session this weekend, Got it posted on the board if anyone wants a listen to them on vox or acoustic guitar
