Well after all, I am a music listening and sampling freak. But you do have to be careful. Ambient music producers and listeners are a fairly small, close knit, and dedicated community. We're probably far more likely to recognize the origin of a thinly disguised sample than the average folk.laj35 said:Barefoot, good ears man. I guess maybe I need to get better at hiding where my sounds came from....
Nice. The "scratch pad" makes sense for the Buchla effect you got. The original Buchla's had touch sensitive pads with which you could articulate sounds. They were exposed circuit traces which actually passed a small current through your skin. Your skin resistance would change depending on the pressure and surface area of your touch. The resulting voltage change could control a filter or oscillator. Crazy, huh?!Those liquidy voice type sounds are also a program within the Triton, called Venusian Stories. Mind you I got it just right late, late one night and it's hard to reconjure EXACTLY what I tweaked but suffice to say I did a lot of processing of fx, filter, etc. on it and when the sound was subtle enough I used the "scratch pad" to initiate/inunciate each sound. I thought it worked out pretty cool sounding in the end.
