hi guys,
its time for me to hang out more often in this section,
i finally started recording bands again, after months of messing around,
i quickly recorded my drumkit yesterday, ran it trough a software limiter
to push up the volume (overdid it a bit but still OK i think)
compressors are
DBX166a (toms), 166XL (kick, floortom), tc triple c on overheads, joemeek vc8 on snare,
oktava MK012 on overheads
beyer m201 on snare
sennheiser e602 on kick
sm57's on toms
m421 on floortom
all sound ran trough an old studiomaster sessionmix 16:4:2
with the compressors on the inserts,
and the outputs of the compressors go to the soundcard
(i split the signal with a patchbay so the compressor outs go to the MOTO soundcard AND to the insert returns of mixing desc)
soundcard : moto828, 5 channels recorded,
i got a sqare room with some blankets on one wall,
this saturday i'm gonna record a punk band in here,
so this is kinda the drumsound i'll get, but the drummer is gonna bring his Pearl kit, sounds better than my sonor force2000
----
so you notice any real bad things?
you notice a "fuckup" in this mp3 sample? (yeah, i'm not a pro drummer, i know, its all about the sound,K)
too much bass on the kick?
i bet there's too much limiting on it overal, but i'm gonna do that more prudent during the real mixdown,
or rightclick+save-as on this index page: http://www.belgianunderground.com
thanks in advance !
